Solutions - Cermet Hybrids
In the past fuel tanks used wire wound resistors to measure the amount of fuel in the gas tank. Ceramic Resistor Cards replaced these types of resistors providing more accurate reading of how much fuel was in the tank and they are resistant to these types of harsh environments.
An automotive customer had an extremely challenging specification regarding high moisture in the interior of the car. MDC provided Radio and Cruise controls made with 96% alumina thick film substrate and conductive cermet inks to resist Silver Migration.
A customer initiated their design using Polymer Thick Film Inks but by the time the design was put into production MDC develop a Cermet Resistor Network that gave the new design an extremely low profile and met the customers new lower resistance requirements.
